Book Launch Event - a conversation with Alex Bertram and Diana Weymar

Join us at Munro's for a night of artistic expression and inspiring conversation between authors Alex Bertram and Diana Weymar!
We will be launching Alex Bertram's book, "Unequivocal Magic", which speaks to the “quiet power” of photographs and their hidden creativity, bringing readers into the author’s own journey into the history of a 1910 portrait of iconic French actress, Sarah Bernhardt. What begins as a quest to recognize the work of her once renowned photographer, Walter Barnett, becomes a story about the female performer in the West, whose use of image to innovate, protest, and survive public scrutiny can provide an enduring agency.
Diana Weymar is the creator of the brilliantly subversive Tiny Pricks Project, and author of "Crafting a Better World: Inspiration and DIY Projects for Craftivists". Her book is a new kind of call to action: an activism guide for combatting fatigue and frustration with the handmade, and ways to transform your anxiety into action. "Crafting a Better World" features essays, exclusive profiles of well-known creatives, and social justice projects that readers can create by themselves or with their communities, this book is a means to stay engaged, make stuff, and hold ourselves together as we navigate this uncertain personal and political landscape.
This book launch will be in collaboration with the Design Victoria Festival, which will run between April 30th - May 3rd. Events will include a curated exhibit, "Form as Story", featuring a selection of Diana Weymar's Tiny Pricks Project, so don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to interact with our local, creative community!
