This event will be a combination book launch party and book-signing, with copies of all of her books available to purchase and get signed by Gwenna! You can also preorder The House on Sunflower Lane using the link here, or purchase it in store during the event.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
The little farmhouse on Sunflower Lane was peaceful when Shannon and Marc moved in-quiet, ordinary, even charming. But when they brought their newborn daughter home from the hospital, something changed.
It started with footsteps in the dead of night. Then Marc, once kind and devoted, began to change. He became cold and distant, spending all day "working" in the spare room down the hall until eventually, he stopped coming out at night, too. By the time their marriage collapsed, Shannon could feel the house's attention closing in on her daughter.
Desperate for answers, she uncovers the story of Fern Carlisle, a mother who lived in the same house sixty years ago. Neighbors still whisper about what happened to her little girl... and how Fern herself never walked out again.
Now, Shannon is alone on Sunflower Lane with a little girl of her own, and every day, the echoes of the past grow louder.
Because this house doesn't let go of its history.
It waits for someone new to live it.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
"I wrote my first piece of fiction in the late 1990’s at the tender age of eight when I submitted a story to the Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest in hopes of impressing LeVar Burton, one of my earliest crushes. I did not win (which really hurt, LeVar), but I continued along my writing journey despite this rejection. I went on to pen many embarrassing fanfics in my tween and teen years, including but not limited to several self-indulgent stories about marrying certain boyband members whose names will be mercifully spared here. My love for writing eventually led me to the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, where I majored in English with a concentration in creative writing. Today, I write spooky novels to make use of my overpriced and otherwise useless bachelor’s degree.
Mysterious, supernatural stories are my favorite, both to write and read. As a young kid, I devoured Kathryn Tucker Windham's Jeffrey series (collections of local Southern ghost legends). Much to my fundamentalist evangelical mother's chagrin, I checked those books out repeatedly from our local library, along with tomes from writers such as R.L. Stine, V.C. Andrews, Shirley Jackson, Dean Koontz, and- even once- Stephen King.
Currently, I reside in the Tennessee Valley, where the stunning Appalachian mountain views almost make up for the increasingly horrifying political landscape. I live with my husband, two young children, and an aging rescued pup. I enjoy lattes, traveling to new places, hiking very slowly whilst out of breath, and devouring dark chocolate."
We hope you will come out and celebrate with Gwenna - and us - and chat with her about how she gets her spooky ideas and produces her amazing books! Tickets are not required, but an RSVP here and book purchase are much appreciated.
