WA Poets Publishing are so incredibly proud to launch books written by two titans of WA poetics. Join John Kinsella and Dennis Haskell as they both release new collections that are sure to stun, delight and inspire.
Dennis Haskell – WHO WOULD KNOW? Dennis Haskell will be launching WHO WOULD KNOW?, his tenth book of poems. In this volume, Haskell’s style ranges across free verse, prose poems, dialogues, and rhymed forms. Here, he explores mortality, Covid lockdowns, and adventures abroad. More specifically, this collection includes a sequence of eulogies for writers. University of California’s Professor Emerita, Shirley Geok-lin Lim, describes this as “a book to be re-read for its plain-spoken courage, its empathy for all sentient beings, a treasure trove of hard-earned wisdom original to the one voice”.
John Kinsella – MINIMALIST: A FIELD JOURNAL OF MUTABILITY AND LOSS. John Kinsella will be launching MINIMALIST: A FIELD JOURNAL OF MUTABILITY AND LOSS. Kinsella is the author of over seventy books, and in this new volume he explores how “writing poetry… is an acknowledgement of purpose – a reification of a belief that commitment and action can bring change”. MINIMALIST explores remembering, the localised, the cosmological, Romanticism, fog, and a vast array of topics, each of them either “whittled back to their cores” or they “express their minimalism through focusing on very specific points of concern”.

Both publications will be available for purchase at the launch.

RSVP Essential. This is a free event but registration is compulsory.
