Book Launch: Sarah Schulman presents The Fantasy and Necessity of Solidarity
In conversation with Linda Villarosa
Wine reception to follow
Award-winning writer Sarah Schulman, a longtime social activist and outspoken critic of the Israeli war on Gaza, launches her new book The Fantasy and Necessity of Solidarity at Greenlight! In this challenging, inspiring, and pragmatic book, Schulman provides a brilliant examination of the intricate and often misunderstood concept of solidarity to provide a new vision for what it means to engage in this workâand why it matters. Drawing resonances between queer, Palestinian, feminist, and artistic struggles for justice, Schulman challenges the traditional notion of solidarity and provides a much-needed path for how we can work together to create a more just, more equitable present and future. Award-winning writer and author of Under the Skin Linda Villarosa joins Schulman for an in-depth discussion on the book, followed by an audience Q&A and signing.
