About this Event
We are incredibly excited to announce that the wonderful Clare Chambers will be joining us for our Book Club special event. We will be asking Clare about her journey into writing, the topics she has chosen to write about and the inspiration for her characters. After the interview there will be a chance to ask Clare your own questions. There will also be book sales and Clare will be able to sign your books.
Clare Chambers's first job after university was working for Diana Athill at André Deutsch. Her first novel Uncertain Terms was published in 1992 and she is the author of eight other novels. Small Pleasures, her first work of fiction in ten years, became a word-of-mouth hit on publication, won Pageturner of the Year Award at the British Book Awards 2022 and was longlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction in 2021. Her latest novel, Shy Creatures, was published by Weidenfeld and Nicholson in 2024.

This event is FREE but please do book your place to allow us to organise the event most effectively. There will be free tea, coffee and cake as well as the book swap table with monetary doantions to the Zambia book project.
