Welcome to Southport Book Club — a relaxed, friendly evening of great books, good conversation, and your favourite drink. Previously listed under a different name — same friendly book club, just a new chapter!
About Us
This friendly Southport book club meets regularly to chat about our latest read, share our thoughts, and sip on some fine wine (other equally lovely drinks are available, including fabulous coffee). So grab a drink, pull up a chair, and let's dive into the world of books together. We can’t wait to see you there!
Format
- We start at 7:30pm.
- We’ll go around the group so everyone has the chance to share their thoughts on the book — no pressure, just as much or as little as you like.
- From there, we move into some fun, interactive discussion questions before opening things up for a more relaxed chat, comparing notes and scores with the wider LLM Book Club.
- At the end, we rate the book using our smartphones for anonymous voting (so everyone can be completely honest — no peer pressure!).
- We usually wrap up around 8:30pm, and you’re very welcome to stay on afterwards for a drink and a chat.
Connection to LLM Book Club
Southport Book Club is affiliated with Little Library Marshside Book Club (LLM Book Club). Established in 2021, LLM Book Club has a waiting list to join. Southport Book Club acts as a taster group, giving attendees first opportunity to join LLM Book Club if places become available. We read the same book and follow the same discussion format, and you’re welcome to suggest future reads for consideration.
