Our book choice for August is: “Unruly” by David Mitchell (the comedian). Described as “Horrible Histories for grownups” it is about England’s rulers from King Arthur (who is never believed to have actually existed) up to the reign of Elizabeth I. It's a tale of narcissists, inadequate self-control, excessive beheadings, middle-management insurrection, uncivil wars, and at least one total Cnut.Apparently, it’s not your standard history book - let’s see if this is the case.
