About this Event
Every two months, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust meets to discuss a different book with a focus on Wildlife and nature. Its a great oppourtunity to get yourself reading, mull over some big ideas and get to know some great people.
Each session starts at 7.30pm but we've got tables booked from 7pm so pop along earlier to grab a drink or some food. It's a laid back approach where everyone can have a chance to share your thoughts or just listen if you prefer. Each session will be lead by either a Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust staff member or volunteer, who will be there to help the conversation move along smoothly, as we all know how difficult it can be being the first to speak in any gathering.
This Month we're discussing:
"Raising Hare" by Chloe Dalton
When lockdown led busy professional Chloe to leave the city and return to the countryside of her childhood, she never expected to find herself custodian of a newly born hare. Yet when she finds the creature, endangered, alone and no bigger than her palm, she is compelled to give it a chance at survival.
Raising Hare chronicles their journey together and the challenges of caring for the leveret and preparing for its return to the wild. We witness an extraordinary relationship between human and animal, rekindling our sense of awe towards nature and wildlife.
