Join us at UNLOCK for a special event featuring the talented author and indie publisher, Sang Ji. Get ready to savour delicious Italian dishes while chatting to Sang, as she joins us for brunch. During this intimate author brunch, Sang will answer questions and share insights into her journey and pursuit of freedom through her writing. Her book Kite Envy is an extraordinary, genre-defying exploration of freedom and self-expression through poetry and short prose. We'll kick off with an interview with Sang, diving into some key themes from her book as well as her thoughts on publishing and getting your voice heard.
This event is an exclusive opportunity to explore the book and the realities of indie writing in more depth — how often do you get to share a table with an author?
It is for those wanting to open their minds, indulge in new writing, explore paths to freedom, or are otherwise interested in alternative routes to getting your own work out there.
About Sang Ji:
“It takes courage to write your truth and even more to put it out into the world for anyone to read. That is Kite Envy, my diary on display. Why did I write it so raw and revealing? Because I was tired of pretending - I wanted to say what I, and most of us, are thinking and feeling but don't dare utter out loud... I want to be free.”
Sang Ji is a multi-disciplinary artist, musician, poet and author of four books, including Kite Envy I want to be Free. She is the Founder of Opera on Sarovar Press, featured in 2016 UN Women 'Voices for Change', has sat on the UCL Poetry Society judging panel and is part of Poets for Change and Poets for the Planet. As an independent publisher, she ensures that her words remain unedited and fully her own voice.
