Join the Iowa Bonsai Association at Reiman Gardens as we showcase the art of Bonsai in the fall season.Bonsai involves the cultivation and artistic shaping of trees, creating a miniature version of a full-sized tree through careful pruning, wiring, and training.
The aim is to create a harmonious and balanced Bonsai as a living piece of art that can be viewed in every season. This year’s theme Bonsai, Fall Color and silhouette showcases deciduous, conifers and tropical trees as the growing season comes to an end and dormancy begins.
What to expect at the show:
On formal display will showcase some of Midwest’s finest Bonsai trees, Antique and contemporary pots, stands and accent plants. You will also find Bonsai related items for sale from Vendors as well as a wide range of things at the Iowa Bonsai Associations bazaar tables.
IBA members will be on hand to answer any questions and discuss all things Bonsai. Formal demos will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday; Informal demos begin Sunday at 1pm.
Pre-registration is not required. Free for Reiman Gardens members and ISU Students. Cost of admission for everyone else.
