On Sunday 1st March, Bomba hosts an evening dedicated to the songs of Nick Drake - a songwriter whose work has only grown in weight and meaning with time. Recorded between 1969 and 1972, his music is subtle, intimate and deeply human, built on intricate guitar playing and lyrics that sit with you long after the final note.
Keith James is widely regarded as the most trusted interpreter of Nick Drake’s catalogue. A long-time friend of the Drake estate, he has spent decades performing these songs with care, accuracy and deep understanding. His work has been praised by Nick’s sister Gabrielle Drake, and his performances are known for offering genuine insight into the music rather than simply recreating it.
Joined by flautist Richie Cotterill, this performance focuses on faithful, uncluttered arrangements that leave space for the songs to breathe. No spectacle, no embellishment - just the details, dynamics and emotional pull that make Nick Drake’s work so enduring.
