About this Event
Bold. Black. Baldwin. @ IPC ArtSpace.
Commemorating the 100th year of James Baldwin’s birth, this exhibition, a collection of original, mixed media pieces and documentary photographs combined with a handful of Baldwin’s powerful and poignant words, highlights the deep connection between the written word and the visual language. Bold. Black. Baldwin. enters the national conversation at a fortuitous moment. This moment is the moment to be brave and to acknowledge that the world that Baldwin helped to build and that the promise he left behind is viciously under attack anew. We invite poets, musicians, community leaders, and artists to celebrate and elevate Baldwin’s legacy.
