John Morin Creative is hosting its sixth student photography exhibition on Sunday, 25 Jan from 11 am to 3pm at the Art House, 136 McAlister Street, Whakatāne. It is open to the public and admission is free. Titled "BOKEH," this event will showcase the final projects from the latest cohort of students in the Digital Photography for Beginners course.
Digital Photography for Beginners is an 8-week course that covers the basics of photography, including manual settings, composition, storytelling, and more.
The students who will be exhibiting are Vanessa Marjoribanks, Hineaka Ruru, Toshy Rapana, Dawn Hill, and Toni-Lee Wharewera.
These exhibitions are a great way to bring the community together to discuss art and storytelling in meaningful ways. They also lower the barrier for budding photographers to showcase their work, which boosts their confidence and makes exhibiting less daunting and more accessible.
The next cohort of the Digital Photography for Beginners course will be March 2026. In addition, there will be a new online, 1-on-1 option that will launch at the same time! For more information, feel free to send a message: https://johnmorincreative.mypixieset.com/contact/
