Boiler Room Comedy returns October 4th & 5th with one of Canada's most entertaining comedians, Katie-Ellen Humphries! The show will also feature another headliner, Ryan Williams, as the feature act for the weekend!Katie-Ellen Humphries:
Deemed “hilarious and original” by comedian Brent Butt (Corner Gas) and “Canada’s Katherine Hepburn in Adidas” by 800 Pound Gorilla, the record label that produced their hit comedy album Ladyfinger, Katie-Ellen is an act you don’t want to miss.
Katie-Ellen’s artful delivery, surprising imagination and unique sensibility (that falls somewhere between the library and the locker-room) has made them a favourite of audiences across Canada and the U.S., including regular appearances on CBC Radio’s The Debaters where they have worked as a writer and Associate Producer. Her television appearances include three seasons on the OUT-TV comedy talk show Morgan Brayton and Other People and nationally televised standup sets on CTV, CBC and APTN plus she’s been featured on major comedy festival lineups such as San Fransisco Sketchfest and JFL Vancouver.
Katie-Ellen is also a 3-time Canadian National Open Water 5k Swimming Champion. That’s unrelated to comedy, but it explains the shoulders.
Ryan Williams:
Ryan Williams is one of Canada’s most exciting comics. His energetic performances and sharp material make him a performer not to be missed. Comedy Records released his debut album, “Manual Labour of Love,” and reached #1 on the iTunes Canada Comedy charts. Ryan has appeared at Just for Laughs New Faces 2023, The New Wave of Comedy on CBC Gem, CBC Radio’s The Debaters and Laugh Out Loud, The Winnipeg Comedy Fest, Just for Laughs Vancouver, Just for Laughs Toronto, JFL 42, JFL Northwest, Grindstone Comedy Fest, Hubcap Comedy fest, The Drew Mclean Comedy Festival, was a finalist in Sirius XM's Canada's top comic and was featured on JFL Northwest's best of the west compilation album.
