This Mother's Day, make a customized and unique Charcuterie Board! In this clay workshop, you'll learn all of the beginner essentials for slab building, a hand-building technique. You'll be guided through each step with demos, instructions, and personalized tips in an encouraging space!
The goals for the afternoon are to explore a new art form, have fun, and make something with your hands! Ceramics is one of the most meditative mediums as it connects us with ourselves, the earth, and all elements. Go ahead and enjoy a night out full of good vibes, goofiness, and mud! :)
Your pieces will be ready for pick up approximately 4 weeks after the event (or can be shipped to you for an added fee). Pottery/ceramics needs to be fired in a kiln twice (once for bisque and the second for glaze), which takes multiple days. Once glaze-fired, the pieces will be non-toxic and safe to use for drinking and eating; they can be put in the dishwasher and microwave, but NOT in or on the stove. Both firings are included in the workshop fee, and you get to pick how you want your piece to be glazed (colored) in the end!
Our typical age range for classes and workshops is 18+, though anyone over the age of 10 is welcome to attend (anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times).
Note: Shahane will be the instructor! She has taught pottery since 2016, got her BFA in ceramic arts in 2015 with a double minor in art history and psychology, and owns Pudgy's Place with her husband Phillip :)
