Turn Verein Celebrates Bockbier from Germany at the 56th Annual Bockbierfest

Spring starts in earnest with the annual celebration of the famous Bockbier coming to the Sacramento Turn Verein on Saturday, April 18th, 2026. This traditional Bockbierfest will present authentic German Bockbier from Germany, great German music and a variety of German foods. Wonderful German dancing music will be provided by local favorite bands, plus special performances of German traditional dances by the Alpentänzer Schuhplattler.
One day only in 2026, our building is 100 years old!
Doors will open at 3:00 p.m. with all activities available to enjoy until 11:00 p.m.
Food and drink available upstairs, downstairs and in the Biergarten. German dance music will be provided in the Main Hall by The Gruber Family Band. Outdoor Biergarten music by the Alpenmeisters. AKAlive! will perform upstairs in our Banquet Hall. The Turn Verein’s delicious Kaffeehaus serves specialty desserts and the outdoor Biergarten will have unique Bockbier from Germany plus our wonderful curry wurst.
Pre-purchase admission is $25 for adults, children up to 12 years, $5.00. Adult tickets at the door $30 if available.

The Sacramento Turn Verein, founded in 1854, moved to its present location in 1925. Now recognized as the center of German culture in Sacramento, the Turn Verein, the oldest still-active institution in Sacramento, supports six special-interest sections and hosts several monthly and annual events to foster German culture. Are there ID or age requirements to enter the event?
Kids are welcome! Yes, we do serve alocholic beverages so we will veify all guests age. You will receive a wristband at the entrance when your ID is checked. We require all guests to wear a wristband. Those guests under 21or who do not wish to drink alcohol will receive a non-alcoholic wristband.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking available at Maidu Middle School (Thanks Sac City School District!) on the asphalt basketball courts, access from J St. No charge! We've made arrangements and paid all fees.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Printed ticket or on your phone. It helps to have your screen display brightness set high, thanks for that!
What is the refund policy?
Your ticket purchase can be canceled via Eventbrite up to the day before your ticket Admission date. Please request a refund through Eventbrite.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes, we understand that one guest may purchase a group of tickets. We won't be able to scan a ticket without checking guest ID.
