boci is a Bristol based violinist and songwriter, who creates alt-folk using her violin, vocals, guitar and loop pedal. Her use of loops and electronic effects allows her to create cinematic, layered arrangements which evolve in real-time. Classically trained, boci now uses her violin freely and expressively as another voice, taking inspiration from various folk playing styles. boci's music is deeply connected to her relationship with the natural world and time spent alone in the wilderness, walking in the mountains of Scotland, Wales and the Lake District.'we are each other, this will set us free' (2022) was a powerfully vulnerable debut release - an album exploring the complex and universal experience of grief after loss. It communicates a deep gratitude for the solace and sense of unity found in nature. The album gained recognition from Songlines, BBC 6 music and BBC introducing.
