BOBBY LEWIS QUINTETTrumpet legend Bobby Lewis returns to Studio5 for a special evening celebrating his 90th year. A revered figure in Chicago music for decades, Lewis has appeared on more than 7,500 recording sessions and performed with an extraordinary range of artists including Curtis Mayfield, Natalie Cole, Ramsey Lewis, Jerry Butler, Donny Hathaway, Gladys Knight, Tony Bennett, The Mills Brothers, and Peggy Lee, who once praised Lewis for having “a sound like no other.”
At 90 years young, Lewis remains a powerful and expressive voice on the trumpet, bringing the same warmth, elegance, and musical imagination that have defined his remarkable career.
Joining him for the evening are some of Chicago’s finest musicians: Pat Mallinger on saxophone, Leandro Lopez-Varady on piano, Larry Gray on bass, and Ernie Adams on drums.
