The work:
Elements of functional and sculptural pieces utilizing ceramic, wood, metals, reclaimed objects, and imagery often evoking emotional ties to human interaction with objects and the function of those pieces. Sometimes humorous, sometimes emotionally serious, and often a sense of personal identity in regard to celebration, sharing, and questioning.
This exhibition will consist of two parts. Gallery space will have human scale pieces as part of the "Two Cup" series. The majority of the work will be out of roughly human scale in size, all of which will house ceremonial vessels. There will also be a dedicated area of small works to a select few artists who have influenced me personally and artistically. The second part of the exhibit will be a performance collaboration between Bob's work and sound artist Pati Pellerito. As a therapist and sound artist, Pati is passionate about the intersection of healing and art. The performance piece will incorporate participants in a celebrational atmosphere incorporated with the "Sound Garden" of Pati's sound performance and my use of functional furniture-like structures and ceramic vessels.
