Hosted at Freya Beauty Salon, this hands-on cutting class is part of the Beauty & the Education series, designed for stylists who want to refine their skills with intention and confidence.

This workshop focuses entirely on the bob—from longer, softer lobs to sharp, structured shapes—giving you the tools to customize every cut to your client.

• The foundations of bob cutting (lob → classic → shorter styles)
• How to choose the right length and shape for your client
• Clean lines, precision, and strong structure
• Techniques to customize your bob for an edgy or sophisticated finish
• How to consult, educate, and set clients up for long-term maintenance

This is a guided, hands-on class where you’ll work step-by-step on your mannequin while receiving individual feedback.

Tracy Hines is a seasoned beauty professional with over 36 years of experience in the industry. Specializing in precision cutting, lived-in color, gray blending, and bridal beauty, she is known for creating timeless, personalized looks that enhance each client’s natural features. Her work has been featured in regional publications, and she collaborates with creatives across New England. Tracy brings a calm, detail-oriented approach and a passion for helping both clients and stylists feel confident in their craft.

• Mannequin head (hair past shoulders)
• Stand for mannequin head
• Haircutting comb
• Water bottle
• Cutting shears + guarded/feather razor
• Blending scissors or thinning shears
• Trimmers
• Hair clippers (if you have them)
• Flat iron and/or curling iron
• Blow dryer
• Clips
• Your favorite styling products
• Wide comb with close teeth (for clipper work)
• A variety of round brushes
