About this Event
UNDERNEATH THE POETREE A Lyric Writing Workshop // Saturday 2 November // 1:30pm - 4:30pm // Venue: Blue Mountains Cultural Centre; Workshop Room // Part of the 2024 Blue Mountains Writers' Festival
Lyrics. Raps. Prose. Poetry. We divide and label these forms of writing, but ultimately they're all branches on the same tree of storytelling and self-expression.
In this workshop with award-winning artist, poet and songwriter , you’ll explore the Venn diagram between these forms and the creative processes involved in their creation. You’ll explore the boundaries between these forms as well as strategies for writing within them.
Build confidence and learn alongside one another while garnering advice and tricks of the trade from an artist and writer whose work has been hopscotching across lyrics, rap, prose and poetry for over and a decade a half.
Whether you're a first timer or an experienced lyricist, we can all benefit from spending some time together beneath the poetree.
