About this Event
WHO THIS CLINIC IS FOR
You’ve been mountain biking long enough to be comfortable on singletrack trails. You know how to shift and brake and are comfortable at a trail area like Betasso. You want to get better at getting up, over and down natural trail features like rocks, roots and logs.
DESCRIPTION
BMA's 2-Day On The Trail MTB clinic combines all of BMA's skills classes into 2 clinics. On Thursday evening, we'll meet at Valmont Bike Park to go over Fundamental MTB Skills. Saturday, we'll take what we learned to the trail!
Thursday, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.: Meet at Valmont Bike Park at the picnic shelter on the skate park side of Valmont Bike Park (see map below) for a 5:30 pm start. We'll cover topics such as body position, bike-body separation, braking, climbing and descending, cornering, and wheel lifts.
Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Meet at the Observatory trailhead at the West Magnolia trail system in Nederland for a 9 am start to finish around 1pm. From the Peak to Peak highway, turn west at Magnolia road and follow Haul Rd for 1 mile. The parking lot will be on the left (see map below). We'll ride around the trails in the area applying the skills we covered on Thursday to on-trail features and also work on tactics to ride the trail more safely and efficiently.
This is an intermediate class.
Maximum 6 students. No matter how you ride your bike, you're about to ride it better!
