Blueprint Baubles: Cyanotype Jewelry Workshop

This small-group, COVID-conscious workshop blends the timeless beauty of cyanotype with the tactile creativity of jewelry making. You’ll experiment with printing on a small scale using curated materials, sunlight (weather permitting), and UV exposure to craft three unique pendants and three 4x6 cyanotype prints on watercolour paper.

We’ll guide you through each step — from coating and composing your image to exposure, toning, cutting, and sealing your final pieces in resin. You’re also welcome to bring flat baubles or small found objects to incorporate into your designs.

This session is ideal for participants who have taken a previous cyanotype workshop, such as, or who have some familiarity with the process. Basic techniques will still be covered, but the focus will be on jewelry design and pendant making.

Spots are limited — early registration is encouraged.

One week before the event, you’ll receive:

• A tutorial on preparing your own photo negatives (optional)
• Studio safety tips and a process overview
• Directions and materials list
  

• Cyanotype chemistry & small-format printing
• Toning & colour shifting with household ingredients
• Sealing prints into resin cabochons and pendant settings
• Tips for creative assembly — bring your own cords, chains, or findings to attach your pendants to!

• KN95 masks mandatory (free masks available at the door)
• Two HEPA filters will run throughout the event
