The sense of community that comes from making music with others is the reason why most of us play in the first place, but building the confidence to play in jam sessions can be tough.
🎻 That's why I recently kicked off this workshop series. Bluegrass Foundations is designed for fiddlers who want to feel more comfortable and competent leading tunes and improvising breaks at jam sessions. These workshops are made to build your repertoire, skills, and confidence at the same time.
In each monthly workshop, we cover the melody of a classic Bluegrass song, including bowings. Then we add tools and techniques you can use to solo over that melody, complete with lots of opportunities to try it yourself.
This month, we're learning how to use pentatonic scales to build solos in "Bury Me Beneath the Willow."
