We're teaming up with our neighbors to put on a local weekend-long event for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Whynot Sunday as an antidote to all this hostile technocrat takeover. Instead of shouldering your way through the mall for mass-produced crap, consider hanging with us instead. We've got the king of clothing resellers Vonnegut Vintage + our new neighbors Flower Fist on our team along with the crew of creatives next door.Amatoria will be 20% off Friday, 30% off Saturday, and 40% off Sunday. We will have tables of juicy $5 books that have been sitting too long – they need go. On Sunday, we'll also have a table of free books + zines. Because unchecked capitalism sux butt. We know that folks are hurting for $ right now, so we're trying to find crafty ways for everyone to participate.
On Friday, "The Office", our friends in the co-working space next door, will be doing some political action shop talk starting at 1pm and at 5:30 pm Councilmember Mai Vang, is joining us for a Creative Community Q & A. Vang is a challenger for Doris Matsui's congressional seat in 2026; she's a member of Sacramento's Mong community, and a grassroots organizer with a proven track record of getting shit done. Mark your calendars: Mai will be here at the Office nextdoor on Friday November 28, 5:30-7pm.
Also at the Office on Sunday November 30, 1-5pm: Clothing Swap and Mending Circle. Bring the stuff you don't want anymore, or bring that cute thing that's missing a button and fix it. Maybe both. There will be snacks. Need some pointers on mending? We have books on that.
