Our April speaker is Benedict Jones, presenting:
Life As A Creative Act
Creativity is a fundamental aspect of being human, and is not limited to just artists. From choosing what to eat to solving a complex problem, we constantly shape our reality. Together, we’ll focus on the act of living and creating, rather than just the final polished result.
This session invites attendees to think about creativity as an everyday practice — something available in how we approach work, relationships, and the way we move through the world. Expect a thoughtful conversation centered on process, perspective, and the creative choices we make every day.
About the Speaker
Benedict Jones is a Bloomington-based photographer, entrepreneur, and product maker whose work spans storytelling, startups, and community media. He currently serves as Photo Crew Chief for SXSW, where he helps lead teams of photographers covering one of the world’s most influential creative festivals.
In addition to his photography work, Benedict has founded multiple ventures, including NOVAS, a strategy and creative studio, and Trekkable, a platform designed to support travelers with accessibility needs. His background in business development, brand strategy, and interaction design informs a multidisciplinary approach to creativity.
Locally, he contributes to community storytelling through photography and media involvement, and also serves as a news anchor with WFHB community radio. Across photography, startups, and media, Benedict’s work centers on creativity as an everyday practice — an idea that shapes his talk, Life As A Creative Act.
