About this Event
The Drama Book Shop presents, in association with Jay Michaels Global Communications, “Blood Type: RAGU” - A talkback, signing, and live podcast recording.
About the play
BLOOD TYPE: RAGU (written and performed by Frank Ingrasciotta) is a hilarious yet tender coming-of-age story focusing on narrator and central character Frank, opening the play using food-as-metaphor in recounting his immigrant parents’ journey from Sicily to Brooklyn. This solo play explores a first-generation immigrant child’s delicate dance between searching for identity, embracing culture, and understanding forgiveness. Frank Ingrasciotta gives a tour-de-force portrayal of over 20 characters who live, love and laugh, in this fast-paced journey that is not just a comedy, not just a drama — It’s family — and we all have one! The show delighted audiences Off-Broadway at the Actors’ Playhouse in NYC receiving a glowing New York Times review. Since its Off-Broadway run Blood Type: RAGU has performed over 1,200 performances nationally and internationally in over 100 venues. The show was originally produced by the Belmont Playhouse, then Off-Broadway by Andrew Levine, and at the Sheas Performing Arts Center by Albert Nocciolino NEC Entertainment and is now with Bon Vivant Enterprises.
