On May 30th from 4-7pm, our service club ANF Oxford is going to host "Blood & BBQ", a blood drive and BBQ potluck at Avent Park! Only 3% of Americans donate blood annually, yet almost all of us or our loved ones will need it at some point in our lives, so it's an awesome thing for us to do if we can (some aren't eligible due to health conditions).
We're looking for at least 14 more people to signup to donate blood there.
But whether you're available to donate or not, we'd love for you and your families to join this awesome community gathering! Stay as long or as little as ya want.
At a time when most of us hang out in microscopic bubbles of people just like us (and people we already know), we need more gatherings like this where we can meet all stripes of Oxonions, build a stronger sense of community, and have fun while doing it!
We're hosting it at Avent Park's pavilion so that kids can play at the park during it (the Oxford Park Commission expects the renovation to be done by then). Bring your kiddos!
We'll supply the pulled pork, but if you're able to bring a dish (starter, side, dessert, snack, drinks etc), please note that in the registration form. Your best thrifty dish would be awesome!
