There’s a lot more to the Manukau Harbour’s muddy shores than meets the eye. From burrowing anemones to snapping shrimp, paddle crabs to predatory snails, this unassuming habitat is home to a wide range of exciting creatures. So why not come and meet these curious critters? Join us at Blockhouse Bay Beach on Sunday 9th March from 2:00pm to 4:00pm to survey the harbour’s biodiversity and learn more about this fascinating ecosystem. We will be using Marine Metre Squared to measure the biodiversity, which means that all animal discoveries you make will be part of a NZ-wide citizen science project!
Bring your hat, sunscreen, suitable beach footwear (it’ll be muddy, so make sure you wear something you don’t mind getting wet!) and drink bottle.
We hope to see you there!
