About this Event
While many discussions about the Digital Pound and CBDS are highly specialized and confined to a single discipline, this interdisciplinary seminar aims to facilitate a dialogue that breaks free from silos and creates a holistic understanding of this multifaceted topic by combining perspectives from banking, finance and (blockchain) technology.
The aim to of the seminar is to envision a positive future and valuable use cases for the Digital Pound while bringing light to any risks. The banking aspect can explore the impact of the Digital Pound on banks, stability, consumer behaviour and the financial industry. Finance and economic aspects can analyse the impact on innovation, the UK’s competitiveness and wealth creation in society. The technical aspects relate to compliance, privacy, scalability, usability and off-line use cases, that already are in use in other countries.
There will be talks followed by networking, food and drinks. This event is organized by The Scottish Blockchain Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/scottish-blockchain-meetup/), which has 2300 members and is part of the Scottish Fintech Festival organized by Fintech Scotland.
