Block Print Berlin: Intro to Block Printing - Young Designers Masterclass

Join us for a playful creative printmaking experience designed for young designers (ages 12–16). In this hands-on masterclass, teens will learn the foundations of block printing with our curated collection of hand-carved woodblocks.

In all our workshops we share stories and the teaching of the incredible master printmakers we learn from in India and apply what we learn in our own creative exploration.

From inking the blocks to printing, they’ll discover how rhythm and repetition can transform a single block into a unique design.

(The instruction of the workshop is in English, but it is not difficult to follow. Our workshop facilitator is an experienced and qualified arts and culture teacher, journalist, designer and visual arts researcher with 25 + years of experience in arts education, writing and visual research.)

- Basics of inking, printing and creative exploration

- How our #FLOW test prints lead to finished designs

- Techniques for exploring colour with eco-friendly inks

- The creative process of turning experiments into art

- All materials provided

- Hand-carved woodblocks from our atelier collection

- Eco-friendly, biodegradable inks (safe and non-toxic)

- In-house colours mixed exclusively for our workshops

- Natural fabrics for test prints and final artwork

- Professional print tables and tools (brushes, dampers, aprons, etc.)

- Small group size (max 8) ensures one-on-one guidance

- A finished printed textile of your choice

- You can choose from teatowels, maxi tote bags, artist pouches, bandanas, furoshikis, etc.
