A youth storytelling workshop for HIV prevention and health equity
About this Event

In advance of National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day, BLKHLTH is hosting BLKHLTH Conversations: Speak Our Future, a creative workshop designed for young people ages 13–24.

This interactive session will bring together youth to learn about HIV prevention, reflect on how health inequities impact Black communities, and explore how storytelling can be used as a tool for advocacy and change.

During the workshop, participants will:

  • Learn about HIV prevention and treatment, including tools like PrEP
  • Explore how structural barriers shape HIV inequities affecting Black youth
  • Build storytelling skills to turn lived experiences into powerful narratives

Participants will also have the optional and voluntary opportunity to record their story with a professional videographer as part of a youth storytelling campaign focused on HIV prevention and health equity.

Food will be provided, and the event is free to attend.

Important: This event is open to individuals ages 13 and older. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Come learn, connect, and help shape the future of health equity through your voice and your story.
