Join your fellow Austin romance readers for a white elephant book swap at Zilker Park! This is likely one of the last chances to enjoy the outdoors before Austin heat takes over for the summer, so we’re making the most of it. Fingers crossed for good weather! We have a backup location just in case and will keep you posted.
Grab your blanket or lawn chair and come ready to swap, steal, and hang out with your people.
How it works:
Draw a number, that’s your pick order. Choose a wrapped book from the pile, peek at the trope hints on the outside, or steal one someone else already picked. A book is frozen after being stolen twice.
What to bring:
- A romance you loved
- Published 2020 or later
- New or gently used
- Wrapped with trope or vibe hints on the outside (no title, no author!)
- Series books are welcome as long as they are standalone stories
- A blanket or lawn chair
- Water or your drink of choice
*No beat-up books. No “meh” reads. Someone’s going home with yours. Make it count.
Finding us:
We will be settled in a shaded spot under the trees along Lou Neff Rd near the volleyball courts and bathrooms. Look for the romance readers with the wrapped books!
Parking:
Stratford Lot at 2224½ Stratford Dr is paid parking at $3 per hour. Lou Neff Rd has limited free street parking on a first come first served basis.
