The Feature
Vik DaRii is a dynamic force of multidisciplinary artistry which blends music, storytelling, and visual expression into a vibrant and authentic narrative. A first-generation Nigerian American from Roxbury, Massachusetts, his journey began as a high school emcee, where he discovered his gift for lyrical storytelling. After completing a degree in Communications from Lincoln University, the nation’s first HBCU, Vik went on to make his mark as a writer, earning credits in XXL, The Source, and VIBE, interviewing Hip Hop, Reggae and R&B legends. His gift afforded him the honor of taking the celebrated stages of New York’s Nuyorican Poets Cafe and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Since moving to the DMV in 2017, Vik has become a dedicated educator in Southeast DC and a cornerstone of the local creative community. Known for his raw vulnerability and a deep connection to his roots, he captivates audiences. Vik also enjoys community-building with a collective of scribes under the banner name "Foundation." In addition, he is a photographer passionate about uplifting marginalized voices. Vik DaRii bridges culture, resilience, and human connection.
