Blair County: A People’s History – A Special America250 Screening!In celebration of America250, the Blair County Historical Society is thrilled to present a special encore screening of the award-winning documentary "Blair County: A People’s History." This 90-minute film takes viewers on a captivating journey through centuries of local history, highlighting the diverse individuals and pivotal events that shaped Blair County and America.
The piece will be screened on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 6:30PM at the Historic Mishler Theatre. All proceeds will support the Blair County Historical Society and its educational mission. Movie tickets are available at the Mishler Theatre’s box office or at www.mishlertheatre.org.
At 8:30PM, the public is welcomed to attend a free after-party and trivia night at Levity Brewing Company (1411 11th Ave.) where $1 per beverage will also benefit the Blair County Historical Society.
In 2025, "Blair County: A People’s History" won Best Historical Film at the New York International Film Awards, Best Indie Feature at the Los Angeles International Cinema Awards, and was nominated for Best Historical/Cultural Feature at the Mid-Atlantic Emmys®. Director Mark Frederick likewise brought home laurels for Best First-Time Director from both the New York Film Awards and the Los Angeles Film Awards.
