Coming at you live deep within the murky depths of Peckham, London.
Season 1, Episode 2.
Black Josh
The enigmatic, charismatic Mancunian lyricist and party boy that is Black Josh, is undoubtedly one of the most exciting rap artists to emerge from our side of the pond. A prolific party boy who, amidst all the chaos, still somehow managed to find the time to drop thirteen albums. Fresh off the back of an Australia/New Zealand tour alongside long-time Blah Records compatriot; Lee Scott and supporting Danny Brown on tour across the UK and Ireland to boot, he has been convinced once again to leave his beloved city of Manchester in order to bring the party down south; if you've seen him before, you kind of know the deal, but at the same time, you have no clue. With a discography as deep as his, his sets are as unpredictable and eclectic as his output.
Bill Shakes
The unelected, official mayor of Blackburn, from Whalley Range to Audley Range, it's all the same! He is on speed like Keanu Reeves on a bus; his pill face is blue steel. There is no one like him; he is the unmistakable Bill Shakes! Fuck what you think you might have heard, pal; you're wrong. It's right there on record; do the history. Big Billy Shakes is the originator of all that super dumb-ill smart northern shit. The man who ventured down south for no good reason to pluck the London half of COTD out of the big smoke and drag them up north to make music, the man who brought Black Josh to the label, we owe this guy a lot; pay your respects! Bring only the finest gifts. He will be previewing some new shit as well as delving deep into the back catalogue.
Sly Moon
What can we say about Sly Moon that hasn't already been said a thousand times before? A man who brought so much funk to the table, his crew named a tune after him in 'Sly Moon Funk.' He gets slyer as the time goes by and never stops wondering why he is so sly. Sly by name, Sly by nature. He has been part of the furniture at several London casinos over the years but, more importantly, part of the soul of Blah Records. When he musters up the willpower to peel himself away from the poker table, he is making beats and writing rhymes about his life experiences.
Tony Broke
It's them! What the hook? Tony Broke's back! Or, as he's known on the streets of Liverpool, TL; a seminal figure of the Liverpool Hip Hop scene. He went from manning the doors at the worst places in Liverpool to freestyling on stage, inside of them. He is a legend; Kool Herc told him to his face he was the definition of a true MC. He has been on it since the late 80's, hosting and supporting a whole slew of legends from the US and beyond. In the early 00's he borrowed the Tony Broke alias from an old comic and switched it up to reflect the grime and grit surrounding him in his home city. In 2013 he dropped his long-awaited, full debut LP 'Broke As F£4k' produced by Reklews, comprising mostly freestyle (as in, off-the-dome) material with some worked-out hooks. The lion's share of the vocals were recorded around 2010, but there was so much material to sift through that it took Reklews a couple of years to mix it all. For the first time ever, he will be performing his debut project in its entirety! Do not miss this for anything, let the world burn.
