About this Event
This intensive session is suitable for expectant parents who are booked to birth their baby at Blacktown Hospital.
Please note that one ticket is required to be purchased for you and one support person to attend.
First time expectant parents benefit enormously from these classes as there is plenty of time to interact and discuss a range of topics from labour and birth to breastfeeding and early parenting.
This session is facilitated by the suitably qualified Childbirth and Parenting Education facilitator and uses various methods to engage clients.
Topics include but not limited to:
- Preparation for birthing your baby
- Signs of labour and how you can manage
- The role of the support person
- Pain relief options - both natural and medical
- The different ways in which babies are born - natural and assisted birth
- Expectations and choices when your pregnancy passes the estimated due date
- What to pack for your hospital stay
- Parenting skills and caring for baby
- Baby safety
- Becoming parents

What are my transport /parking options getting to the event?

Do I bring my partner along to all the classes with me?
Partners are encouraged to attend. If your partner can’t make it, you may bring along one support person (included in price of the ticket).
What can/can’t I bring to the event?
You may like to bring a snack and your lunch. Tea and coffee are provided.

Is my registration ticket transferable?
No
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, you can return to the booking page to do so.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. You can print it out or save on the Eventbrite app if you wish.
What is the refund policy?
A full refund may be given only in the following circumstances:
- Premature birth
- Hospital admission
An administration fee will be incurred on cancellation requests with less than 3 weeks notice.
