Black Voter Engagement Workshop: Hosted by The Black Policy Institute

Welcome to our Black Voter Engagement Workshop hosted by The Young People's Advisory Board of The Black Policy Institute! Join us online for an interactive session focused on empowering Black voters. Learn about the importance of voting, how to navigate the voting process, and ways to mobilize your community.

For to many voting can feel like it has little impact. But it is important to remember that every vote counts and through collective effort we are capable of creating massive change. If you are interested in:

• Learning more about the benefits of voting for Black communities
• Talking to like-minded people about key issues
• Understanding how pushing back on voter apathy can bring about significant progress

Or simply hearing opinions and stories about the influence of voting from black voices then sign up and attend this workshop!

What is the workshop about?

On the 20th of April join us online in a space for Black Political Empowerment. Participants will:

• Gain knowledge on the value of their vote
• Become familiar with the impact of voter suppression tactics and ways to get around them
• Develop understanding of how the Black vote is key to improve our communities
• Discuss local community issues that are impacted by voting
• Talk about the best ways to engage other community members to use their own voting power

Be a part of the discussion and the drive for change by sharing this event with others. Join us in our pursuit for change through policy and making sure that Black voices are heard in electoral cycles.

What is the Black Policy Institute?

The Black Policy Institute (TBPI) is a think tank dedicated to advancing racial equity and inclusive growth. We are here to serve the community and assist the private, public, and third sectors to take action to accelerate civic, economic and social development. We provide research and policy then translate this into practical assets and deliver capabilities that create a positive impact.

Our objective is to strengthen organisations and society’s capacity to recognise and address all forms of anti-black racism by:

• Improving the socio-economic position of black people
• Broadening the democratic engagement and civic action of black people
• Working with a network of existing agencies in the UK and globally to create policies and practices that foster equity and inclusion of black people of African and Caribbean heritage.

What is the Young People’s Advisory Board?

The Young People’s Advisory Board is a Global Leadership Programme specifically designed to create the first young Black thought leaders. We look to engage young people in political activism and providing them with avenues to build up their network, have discussions with likeminded people, learn important and translatable skills and contribute towards the generation of sustainable solutions that will help black people to thrive within their communities.
