BLACK SOUNDS: Seen, Heard, Felt (Performance)

Legendary hip-hop DJ , acoustic duo , and go-go soul and funk-inspired band will be taking the stage in Columbus, OH for a night of live music and dance!
Brooklyn-based artist Talib Kweli may be best known for hits like “Get By” and his collaborations with Mos Def, Hi-Tek, Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams, but at Black Sounds, this hip-hop icon will DJ for an unparalleled set. Columbus-based groups will add some local representation with the jazz-influenced acoustic variety of Starlit Ways and The Dealbreaker’s powerful go-go combination of jazz, funk, soul, R&B, and gospel influences.
- The event will be held at the historic Valley Dale Ballroom in Columbus, Ohio.
- Doors open at 5:30pm EST.
- Food and drink will be available for purchase. No alcohol will be permitted on the premises.

Black Sounds: Seen, Heard, Felt is an experiential event collaboratively designed by a group of OSU students to engage the senses of the broader Columbus community. Through a variety of workshops, hands-on activities, and live musical acts from local Black artists, we hope to provide a space for a deeper appreciation of Black sonic cultures and the worlds they create.
