This slightly shorter route is ideal for those whose horses are building fitness. Starting from Black Rocks car park and approx 5 miles long this ride incorporates what is, in my opinion, the most scenic portion of the High Peak Trail with commanding views across the valley to Matlock and beyond. The route takes in part of the Midshires way, woodland, small lanes and bridleways across open fields. This presents a good opportunity to try cantering out, equally stick to walk and trot only.

Worth noting: The High Peak Trail is a multi-user trail and you will encounter bikes and walkers with dogs.
Bridleways on this route cross farmland which may contain livestock such as Cows and Sheep.
There are some small sections of roadwork on this ride.
Trails are hardcore surfaced and may be stony.
Parking is pay and display.
All riders must have their own BHS Gold or equivalent Public Liability Insurance. Under 18s are welcome but on their first visit, must be accompanied on the ride by an adult rider. Group size limited to 6+guide.
Payment of £42 per person secures your place. Book your place using the 'find tickets' button or message the page for more info.
