This slightly shorter route is ideal for those whose horses are building fitness. Starting from Middleton Top and approx 6 miles long this ride incorporates what is, in my opinion, the most scenic portion of the High Peak Trail with commanding views across the valley to Matlock and beyond. Taking in part of the Midshires way and bridleways across open fields where there is an opportunity to canter if all riders are happy to, it's a truly stunning route. View the route demo video at:
Worth noting: The High Peak Trail is a multi-user trail and you will encounter bikes and walkers with dogs.
Bridleways on this route cross farmland which may contain livestock such as Cows and Sheep.
There are some small sections of roadwork on this ride.
Trails are hardcore surfaced and may be stony.
All riders must have their own BHS Gold or equivalent Public Liability Insurance. Under 18s are welcome but on their first visit, must be accompanied on the ride by an adult rider. Group size limited to 6+guide.
