Join us for the 2026 Black Maternal Health Event, co-hosted by Stillborn And Infant Loss Support (SAILS) & the City of Laurel, with baby essentials generously sponsored and donated by the Maryland Diaper Bank. This free community event will provide education, wellness activities, and resources to support Black maternal health.

Meet our panelists for the 2026 Black Maternal Health Event!
Moderated by: Dr. Stephanie Hack
Dr. Stephanie Hack is a board-certified OB-GYN, speaker, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in women’s health. Passionate about education, advocacy, and empowerment, she understands the impact of our environment on health.
Monique Nasha’e is a Certified Art Therapist, Licensed Group Therapist, nationwide mental health advocate, and Certified Life Coach. She is the founder of Hey Sis Retreats, where she creates safe spaces for women to release stress and bloom into their best selves through self-care events, mental health workshops, and wellness services. Her work focuses on supporting women and mothers navigating postpartum depression, anxiety, grief, loss, and major life stress, driven by her passion to ensure women have access to the healing spaces and support they deserve.
Asia Vianna M. Leak is an E-RYT 500 yoga educator, mental health professional, and Chief Visionary Yogi of Love Yoga Studio. She leads teacher trainings and specialty certifications integrating yoga philosophy, trauma-sensitive practice, and mental health. Her work focuses on accessible wellness, inclusive yoga education, and training compassionate, culturally responsive teachers.
Dr. Charmaine Ivey, a Prince George’s County native, is a transformational public health leader advancing health equity across PG County. As Director of Population and Community Health at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, she leads initiatives serving 200,000+ residents, improving maternal health and expanding access for underserved communities.
Brandon Bacote, alongside his wife Tierra, is the father of Bowen Chase Bacote and co-founder of The BoChase Foundation Inc. After the loss of their son, he turned grief into purpose—supporting families facing infertility pregnancy and infant loss. Through advocacy and outreach, they ensure no family feels alone and every loss matters.
