P/O MASSACRE
(PONOMAREV/OBRAZEENA MASSACRE)
There have been bands called Massacre before, but this one is unlike any that preceded them.
They are a duo of two established musicians – saxophonist and electronics player Anton Ponomarev and guitarist Anton Obrazeena.
Obrazeena is the leader of Moscow-based noise-rock band Jars, while Ponomarev is a member of punk-avant-jazz-noise outfits (Teufelskeller, Brom, Speedball Trio, Catatonic Leisure, etc.) He
performed with Jars, and contributed saxophone to some of their recordings, and eventually the idea for a two-man project began to take shape. Their first performance as P/O MASSACRE was
on October, 2018.
Anton Ponomarev - saxophone, modified pocket trumpet, electronics
Anton Obrazeena - Guitar, FX, Samples, Synths

Debut self-titled album was released on Utech Records (US) in the beginning of 2021
(LP/CD)
A downtuned wall of distortion so thick you can almost scoop it up in your hands and rub it on your face. This album is an immersive world of pure sound that fills the room as easily as it empties out your skull – an exquisite journey to the endless soundscapes of drone. 2 years after P/O MASSACRE goes deeper in their immersive noise experimentation with their second album Aural Corrosion. In this collaboration album with Alex Buess (Swiss musician, composer, sound engineer and 16-17 band leader) and Merzbow (Masami Akita) an architecture of distortion, Moog processors, spring reverb, drone effects and more, then developed in different directions by two electronic/noise veterans. It’s a journey of pure sensation, destruction, and rebirth. A skull-vibrating sound decomposition to your face.

Sonic Oblivion

Third album of the band, it is an extension of sorts to the 2023 album "Aural Corrosion” featuring Merzbow and Alex Buess. Based on materials from the same recording session as its predecessor, "Sonic Oblivion" has a different impact. This nearly two-hour-long album features knife-sharp and grave-deep guitar noises by Obrazeena, apocalyptic electronics and shrill saxophone avalanches by Ponomarev, alongside electroacoustic textures and found sounds.
