About this Event
The celebration of Black joy is a reclamation of Black humanity, a resistance to all forms of oppression and a display of bold, beautiful resilience.
Join us in a soulful gathering, themed around reclaiming our joy. This is a space for all persons of African descent to show up just as you are and be embraced with love, acceptance and tenderness.
Grounded in African centered traditions, we will immerse oursevles in a variety of healing practices, including meditation, African dance, and community storytelling. We will also nourish our physical bodies with a delicious and nourishing meal. It is our hope that this sacred space leaves you feeling uplifted, connected, empowered, and restored.
We ask that you bring the following items to accompany you at the retreat:
- Blanket
- Yoga Mat
- Pillow
- Journal/Pen
- Photo of an ancestor or something that represents an ancestor
We will have a few extra of items listed above , if you don't have access to any of these.
**Location details will be shared upon regisration.
