We are so excited to announce the first ever Black History Month Community Open Mic in Reykjavík!! Co-hosted by R.E.C Arts Reykjavík and Inclusive Iceland. An event of celebration and deep learning. When? SUNDAY, 23 FEBRUARY, 17-20

Black History Month has its roots in the United States, however we want to explore: what does it mean to be Black in Iceland? This event will examine historical & experiential differences between the Black experience in the diaspora compared to life in the Nordics. The aim is to foster future celebratory and educational events.
{NOTE: The stage is reserved for the voices of Black folks, however the event is open to all! Please respect that this is a safer space made by and for Black folks, yet it is also an educational opportunity to listen and learn ❤️}

🥗FOOD: As this is a community event, food will be “potluck” style! We encourage folks to bring “finger food” items to share! (MUST list all ingredients on a label for allergy purposes)
Drinks are available for purchase at the bar!
♿️ ACCESSIBILITY: the space is fully accessible (elevator entrance), with an accessible restroom. The stage is a step up, however the “stage space” also extends to the floor.
