Youth Black History Basics: A Three-Week Interactive Learning Experience

This February, give your child the gift of knowledge, identity, and empowerment! Join us for a three-week interactive Black History class designed specifically for youth ages 9-13 (flexible for slightly younger or older children).
Through engaging discussions, hands-on activities, and group collaboration, we will explore the rich legacy of Black history, the power of self-identity, and the global impact of African heritage. This class fosters a sense of self-worth, pride, and determination in a fun and supportive environment.

Meet Your Instructor
These sessions will be hosted by Born Logic Allah, co-founder of and a passionate educator on Black history.

REGISTRATION
We require 1 resgistration per child. If you have multiple children (that you want to attend), you must complete multiple registrations. 2 Children per family is the maximum allowed.
What Will We Cover?
📚 Week 1 (Feb 8): Black History is World History
Did you know that Black history is the foundation of human civilization? We’ll explore African contributions to science, art, and culture that shaped the world as we know it.
📚 Week 2 (Feb 15): The Origins of Black History Month
Why was Black History Month created? How does knowing our past shape our future? We’ll uncover the story behind this important month and why Black history is essential year-round.
📚 Week 3 (Feb 22): Who Am I? Who Are We?
Understanding ourselves is the key to self-love and confidence. This week, we’ll dive into identity, community, and the importance of knowing and appreciating who we are.

Recommended for ages 9-13, but slightly younger or older children are welcome.
🚫 Parents: This is a drop-off class—however parents will be able to stay if they choose.
🥤 What to Bring: A light snack and water.
