Black Cat Zine Club – Pride Edition 🏳️🌈🐈⬛
Join us at Black Cat – Bar, Coffee & Bottle Shop on Smithdown Road for our next Black Cat Zine Club in Liverpool! This time, we’re celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride with an evening of zine-making, creativity, community, and queer joy.
We’ll be creating handmade zines inspired by all things Pride — identity, love, friendship, protest, nightlife, chosen family, queer history, camp chaos, softness, liberation, self-expression, and the beautiful weirdness of being fully yourself.
Think protest posters, club flyers, diary fragments, drag glamour, rainbow maximalism, tender moments, political rage, queer icons, DIY aesthetics, glitter, heartbreak, hope, gender euphoria, underground scenes, Pride marches, nostalgic memories, utopian futures, and the people who make us feel seen.
Expect cutting, sticking, folding, drawing, writing, collaging, and general creative cuteness. If you’d like to, bring along photos, magazines, lyrics, poems, flyers, or anything you want to include in your zine. No experience needed.
It’s 6–8.30pm on Monday 30th June at the same lovely Black Cat location on Smithdown Rd. As always, this is a safe, welcoming, and intersectional space. Any meanies or cranks are not invited.
The event is ticketed because space is limited. There are free tickets available, alongside donation tickets if you’d like to chip in a couple of pounds towards materials and supplies, which are funded out of pocket. Please choose whichever option feels accessible to you — everyone is genuinely welcome. Reach out if the free tickets sell out, but a donation is prohibitive.
All materials are provided — just bring some cash/card for drinks and snacks from the bar.
