Join Touch Grass Club, Black Youth Association, Beyond the River, Edmonton River Valley Conservation Coalition, and Bird Friendly Edmonton to learn about Liradae by a dedicated Birder and Astronomer Joel Weatherly who will help us in our search for Laridae.Laridae is a family of 105 species including gulls, terns, noddies, and skimmers. This family keeps in theme with this year's Black Birders Week: “Flyways & Freedom: Advocacy, Action, and the Future”. Laridae are birds without borders, birds that cross oceans and continents.
Each year Black AF in STEM hosts Black Birders Week aimed at engaging the local STEM community and citizen scientists from the African diaspora through events like birding walks. This event is open to everyone from any background. Shared learning is how we build collective power for advocacy.
Everyone is welcome! This event is open to everyone from any background. This is a great event for those new to birding and those who have never explored wilderness sights outside the city!
