About this Event
Join DC Bird Alliance for a Birding by Kayak experience at Pohick Bay as part of Black Birders Week, a national celebration of Black joy, visibility, and connection in the outdoors.
We’ll explore birds and habitat from a different perspective — the water. Paddling along the shoreline offers a unique opportunity to observe birds that are often harder to see from land, including herons, egrets, ospreys, and other water-associated species.
This experience is designed for those with some prior kayaking experience and comfort on the water. Birders of all levels are welcome. Whether you’re new to birding or have been at it for years, this is a chance to slow down, observe, and connect with both nature and community.
