About this Event
Quentesa, with Authors for the Culture LLC, in partnership with Western Boulevard Presbyterian Church is hosting the 4th Annual Black Authors Book Fair (BABF). This book fair is a free, community-centered event featuring local authors who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). In addition to BIPOC authors, there will be vendors of all ethnicities to create a vibrant and inclusive marketplace experience. Together, we amplify and empower marginalized voices through literature, art, and fellowship because #representationmatters.
A percentage of vendor fees will be donated to the Presbyterian Church’s Matthew 25 Initiative, with a focus on the second pillar which works to dismantle structural racism and promote inclusive, equitable communities.
The BABF will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 4900 Kaplan Drive Raleigh, NC 27606. Admission is FREE. Attendees are encouraged to support vendors monetarily by purchasing their products and services. We will also gather on the lawn for restorative conversations during our Books & Blankets segment. Save the date! Spread the word!
Join us! Bring the whole family and a blanket or two! Patronize, fellowship, and then sit on the lawn to read your books and listen in on the panel discussion.
Registration is open for vendors and volunteers. If you’re interested in sponsoring this event or photographing this event, please reach out to us as well. Contact us via email: [email protected]
